Japa Malas

Japa Malas have been used by yogis and sages for centuries to focus the mind on Mantra and contemplation of the Absolute. The practice of japa is mantra repetition done inwardly or repeated softly. Using a Japa mala enhances your practice by reminding you to repeat the mantra. Malas are also worn to help elevate the awakened Kundalini in the body. They are a form of blessing and protection. Rudraksha malas have a particular significance in that they are made solely of rudraksha beads which grow on a tall plant that is a favorite of Lord Shiva.
