Information About Accommodations In the Ashram.

Supreme Meditation Ashram

The word "ashram" means place of retreat or rest and learning. The Supreme Meditation Ashram is a small ashram (meditation school) situated in a private Cul de Sac on what used to be a sacred American Indian abode. We are located on the western border of Connecticut in the beautiful Housatonic Valley.

The Ashram is easily accessible by car and public transportation. We are conveniently located 30 minutes from the Carmel/Patterson New York border and 15 minutes from Danbury, CT. The ashram is situated in the middle of Brookfield, Washington, Kent, Warren, Sherman, Bridgewater and Roxbury. We are a 90-minute drive from Manhattan.

Ashram Room 4 looks exactly the same as Room 3. It is adjacent to Room 3 and Rooms 3 and 4 are separated by a large Soji Screen.

Room 5

Accommodations

We are a small Ashram. A limited number of rooms are available. Accommodations are modest but comfortable. Ashram Rooms 1, 2 3 and 4 include shared bathrooms. Room 1 is also suitable for a married couple (unless you are very tall or large, then choose Room 5 if you are a married couple). Rooms 2, 3, and 4 are for singles. Rooms 3 and 4 are for same gender only, either both males or both females.

In addition, there is a Room 5 with private bath available in the home of a disciple of Acharya Kedar's, located 5 minutes drive from the Ashram. This room is suitable for singles and married couples, and includes a fold-up day bed for children.

Check In and Check Out

For intensives/weekend meditation retreats, check in begins on Friday morning and check out is by Monday morning after breakfast, at the latest. For all-day chants, check in begins on Friday morning and check out is by Sunday morning after breakfast, at the latest. If you have special needs or requests for accommodations, you can contact us.

Rates

$55 per person, per night.
Under 18 years of age, $25 per person, per night.

The room rate includes up to three vegetarian meals per night of accommodations purchased, at no additional charge (additional meals can be purchased in our bookstore), and the daily meditation/chanting programs and Seva which are a part of the daily Ashram schedule.

We are not able to accommodate pets. Overnight accommodations are for singles, married couples and their family members. Unmarried couples are accommodated in separate rooms.

You may receive a refund if you cancel your accommodations 7 days prior to the date of your expected arrival. All refunds are subject to a $25 handling charge. Inside 7 days, there is no refund.
