Supreme Meditation
The Yoga of The Absolute

Supreme Meditation is an independent, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, public charity. Shri Acharya Kedar is the founder and spiritual head of our school and ashram. This organization and path has been established to fulfill the Supreme Meditation Vision. Ours is a completely volunteer organization supported by students who volunteer their time and donations. We are a meditation school and our school is situated in a private Cul de Sac on what used to be a sacred American Indian abode. We also have centers in various locations around the United States where special programs take place (contact us for locations). The land our meditation school resides on was purchased from Chief Waramaug of the Weantinock Indians in 1703, by a group of settlers from Milford, CT. Supreme Meditation is situated in an area that was used for "sweats" (sacred ceremonies of meditation and healing) by generations of the Pootatuck and Weantinock tribes. Our main location is on the western border of Connecticut in the beautiful Housatonic Valley.

The focus of the teachings and practices of Supreme Meditation is to come to love this world, this Universe unconditionally, and to recognize it as God. This inner state allows you to attain all those things that you have been looking for where they are not, by finding them where they actually are inside yourself; a Heart that is immersed in Supreme Love, Total Freedom, Uninterrupted Joy, a Constant Inner Peace and inner strength, a happiness that is not dependent on anything or anyone outside yourself, and freedom from fear, worry and doubt. What's there not to like about that?

It is this experience that gives the seeker the ability to be completely connected with the inner Self in every daily mundane activity, not just while sitting in a dark corner meditating with your eyes closed. The practices and teachings of our Path are designed to put you in this experience on a constant basis. This begins with Shaktipat.

Our programs are open to people of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds. You do not need to leave your faith, church, synagogue or mosque to practice Supreme Meditation.

The Path of the Siddhas

The experience of the inner Self takes you to the place of all worship inside your own being. The path that one treads to reach this place of peace inside we call the path of the Siddhas. It is a spontaneous path. This is the path that all the Siddhas of our lineage have tread to attain perfection in spiritual practice through the subtle channel called the Sushumna Nadi (subtle body) located in the center of the spinal canal. When the pranic force (Kundalini Shakti) enters this nadi and becomes steadily established in the Sahasrar (highest spiritual center), a seeker merges with the Heart of the Almighty and attains Total Freedom. A seeker of the Truth is initiated into this path through Shaktipat. This is the means to obtain union with your Natural, Free State of Being, spontaneously and without difficulty.

The scriptures of Shaivism and Vedanta, as well as the Tantras of the Eastern mystics, contain many hidden meanings that cannot be understood from the level of practical experience, without the guidance of one who has experienced those teachings and merged with the principles they represent. Also, many of the teachings set forth in these sacred texts are purposely obscured in an attempt to prevent them being used for the wrong purpose. This is why the guidance of a competent Master, established in an oral tradition, is essential for permanent transformation to occur. Acharyaji is part of this long oral tradition of the Yoga of the Siddhas that includes Trika (Kashmir) Shaivism.

The Lineage

This path has a rich spiritual heritage in the lineage of Siddha Masters. The line of direct and indirect succession includes many Siddha Masters of Meditation beginning with the Guru of the Siddhas, Lord Shiva.

Here we take refuge in Bhagawan Nityananda, the great Saint of modern India and the master of Acharya Kedar's lineage. Bhagawan Nityananda was and is the perfect embodiment of the Shiva-Shakti Principle (God-principle). Everything that takes place in Supreme Meditation is due to His Grace. Bhagawan Nityananda is without taint, without any blemish. He is spotless and this is why we take refuge in Him.
